The beauty and grandeur of the longest reign in the history of Europe was to him but the shadow of that higher nobility and true greatness of the inner man whose grace, that of the Saviour himself, was the model for his comportment, statesmanship, and religious life. He built Versailles, modeled after an ancient soul memory, as an archetype of the universal concept of community. Why we study Lanello’s embodiments... I realized that we could go no further in putting on the mantle of Lanello’s mastery without knowing more about his previous incarnations. The essential facts of his life are not enough....
