When you break your toe the best thing to do is to buddy tape it. Tape it to the one next to it but if that hurts even more than it did before then take the tape off and talk to your doctor. Generally speaking, toes heal pretty well in two to four weeks. Sometimes fractures are so severe that if left untreated can cause long-term pain or deformity. Again, if the pain is getting worse, if buddy taping hurts more, then it would be best to talk to your doctor and they can decide if anything else needs to be done about it.
