Заброшенный секретный радиоцентр Контур СССР. Забытый бункер ВМФ
This video is an expedition to one of the most classified facilities of the Cold War: the Kontur Transmitting Radio Center (military unit 60182). 📍 Facility: The Kontur Transmitting Radio Center (PDRC) of the Soviet Navy. 📍 Years of operation: Built in 1967 (Project VMP-28), commissioned in 1978, mothballed in 1998, looted in 2000. 📍 Architecture: A unique bunker based on the standard AU-11 air defense shelter design, completely rebuilt into a multi-level autonomous radio center. 🌇Tours of Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad region 8-90-22-50-44-08 📸 (Zhenyay Ogon) Its main task: to reliably transmit orders from Moscow to nuclear submarines and naval ships on combat duty in the oceans via the "Okean" and "Equator" radio networks. For this purpose, the highly powerful "Okun," "Ural," "Purga," and "Plamya" transmitters (from 1 to 140 kW) and antenna arrays were used. In the film, I'll show: 🔹 How this autonomous underground complex was constructed (transmitter shop, diesel generator, air filtration, artesian well). 🔹 Why it would have been destroyed in the first 30 minutes of the war. 🔹 Most mysterious: what do "number stations"—those same shortwave stations with encrypted voice messages for agents—have to do with it? We'll explore the facility's obscure purpose. This is the story of a gigantic, complex, and now obsolete communications system, which is now being replaced by a few mobile machines. A sad, but logical, outcome of the technological race. 👨✈ PDRC Kontur Veterans Group https://ok.ru/group/47555198058665 ☢ Perimeter System on Wikipedia https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Стемата_«Периметр» 🎼 Music by Black Mesa - Joel Nielsen - End Credits Part 2 📍 For inquisitive local historians 54.687304, 21.498154
