But it was like a slow burn where I didn't realize how down I felt until it got really bad. I used to do things like rearrange my furniture or try to change other things in my life, thinking that would make things better. My sister and my friends were such great support. I remember I didn't want them to think I was a dark person, and that underneath this sadness was a loving, empathetic soul, which they knew. When I finally got out of that relationship and started to heal I really found myself and learned a lot from that experience.
