Rusalka - Русалка - a forest mermaid and enchanted lake

Rusalka, русалочка, русалка, (similar to a mermaid) is a mystical personage of Eastern European Folklore. They protect forests, fields, and waters, and can be malicious towards humans. Yet, the innocent and noble people are often rewarded by Rusalkas, who know and live by the secrets and magic of nature This ASMR -like story project is a result Dia's and mine mutual love for mythical creatures, Rusalka being one of them. Perhaps, the only being that does not have an analog in Indian mythology. Dia apart from photography does crafts and designed this costume and jewelry. The story came as a flash to me later, when Dia already edited the video. But, I must admit, speaking on behalf of a mermaid was very natural, after all, I was born and raised in Belarus and spent a big deal of my childhood in Ukraine, two lands, where the folklore is present in every aspect of our lives. Photographer's statement: "Being a photographer/an artist, making changes and looking for possibilities and creating different is a difficult task. I love fantasies and unreal myths and I like to bring them to reality through my art and photography. I am so happy to make it possible and so grateful to the people who support me to make it happen. I would like to thank my brother (Dil Johnson) and sister(Shyamini Dil) who were there from the beginning to project completion, my crazy model Irena Mohini who was very happy to be a mermaid, and the makeup artist Femy Antony who did a wonderful job. I am so happy that the years of collection of shells from the beaches I visited were used for this project's costume." Please do subscribe Irena Mohini https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuuG...
